Компания AMD анонсирует поставки производителям ПК ускоренных процессоров 7-го поколения серии A под кодовым именем Bristol Ridge. Они будут содержать 4 ядра Excavator с энергопотреблением от 35 Вт до 65 Вт. Эти процессоры также оснащены графическими ядрами Radeon R7 или R5. Данные APU должны получить 50% ускорение в производительности CPU, по отношению к Kaveri 2014 года, и 10% прирост, сравнительно с Carrizo. Данный прирост производительности обусловлен памятью DDR4, что обеспечивает большую пропускную способность памяти.
Также AMD заявляет о 99% прироста в области графики, по сравнению с Core i5 6000.
Процессоры серии A 7-го поколения AMD будут поддерживать видео 4K в форматах H.264 и H.265, Microsoft Direct X12 и периферию, включая PCIe Gen 3, USB 3.1 Gen 2, NVMe и SATA Express.

AMD has announced that its 7th-generation A-Series Bristol Ridge microprocessors are shipping to PC makers.

Bristol Ridge is supposed to be a 50 percent improvement in CPU performance over the Kaveri APU released in 2014, and a 10 percent hike over the Carrizo thanks to its access to a DDR4 memory controller. This gives the APU a greater memory bandwidth over the DDR3 Carrizo.
AMD also claims it has 99 percent better graphics performance than Intel's Core i5 6000 chip and "equivalent productivity performance" but to be fair to Chipzilla that is so nebulous we will have to see it before we believe it..
The 7th-Gen A-Series desktop microprocessors will support 4K video playback in H.264 and H.265 formats, Microsoft Direct X12 and peripherals including PCIe Gen 3, USB 3.1 Gen 2, NVMe and SATA Express.
AMD is gearing up to release Zen, the firm's next-generation desktop CPU architecture which is supposed to be the game changer.
