Photo Mechanic displays the "thumbnails" of photos on a camera disk or folder in a familiar "contact sheet" display window. You can quickly rotate, preview, copy, delete, tag, rename, and add caption / keyword (IPTC news record) information to photos both individually and in batches. Photo Mechanic helps you find the best photo amongst several similar shots with its preview display that lets you flip through a group of selected photos at high resolution. Photo Mechanic is ICC color managed for displaying thumbnails and previews, and can also detect and embed the Adobe RGB color space used by some professional cameras from Nikon and Canon. Photo Mechanic 4 for Windows requires Windows XP or Windows 2000. Although support for various image formats is planned, Photo Mechanic currently only browses JPEGs, TIFFs, Nikon NEF, and Canon CRW files. This means it will treat Kodak DCS raw TIF and Canon 1D raw TIF files as if they were normal TIFF files (like other applications would do that don't have explicit support for these raw formats), and it will not show other raw formats.
