Создаваемые в InstallShield установочные пакеты отлично работают со всеми версиями Windows, а также в среде .NET Framework. Ключевым компонентом технологии InstallShield является язык InstallScript
Для разработки установочных пакетов на разных языках предлагается два языковых пакета: West Language Pack, содержащий 24 европейских языка, и East Language Pack, поддерживающий русский, китайский, корейский, японский и другие языки.

Package For The Web - это вполне самостоятельное решение, предоставляющее возможность архивирования файлов, приложений и элементов ActiveX для передачи через Интернет. Программа имеет достаточно простой и удобный мастер-интерфейс, что позволяет быстро и легко создавать 32-разрядные саморазархивирующиеся exe- или cab-файлы.
